An up to date EPC can save you money. The report gives your home's current energy usage and your potential for saving if the set of recommendations in the report are followed. It does the same for the carbon emissions per annum.
The report gives estimated current costs for lighting, heating and hot water and potential savings by considering the following:
- Age and construction method of the property.
- Exterior/ interior dimension measurements.
- Windows and the type of glazing.
- The efficiency of the heating system & hot water systems (visual observations).
- Identifying existing cavity wall and loft insulation.
- Presence of any energy saving features/ light bulbs.
- Inspection of the loft space and insulation (if accessible).
